Year 9 Careers Day, 13th October 2021
This week saw the first ‘face to face’ careers event held in school since January 2020.
Year 9 students took part in a series of activities focussing on employability skills such as communication, teamworking, problem-solving and leadership. Visitors from Babcock International, NHS, Kier Construction, City College Plymouth, Plymouth College of Creative Arts, Norpro Training and Next Steps South West spent the morning delivering workshops to the whole year group with a real emphasis on STEM based careers, together with insights into Level 3 study pathway opportunities available in the City. Whilst we have been able to deliver virtual careers events throughout the pandemic, experiencing face to face encounters with Employers and Training Providers has a significant impact on our young people. There was a real buzz of energy around school, and it was great to see the students engaging with our visitors.
